The Nature Conservancy is a charitable environmental organization, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Founded in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has over one million members and has protected more than 119,000,000 acres of land and thousands of miles of rivers worldwide.
The World Wide Fund for Nature is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1961 that works in the field of wilderness preservation and the reduction of human impact on the environment. It was formerly named the World Wildlife Fund, which remains its official name in Canada and the United States.
The Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program (TKCP) is the Woodland Park Zoo’s signature international conservation program, focused on conserving the endangered Matschie’s tree-kangaroo (Dendrolagus matschiei) and the habitat in which it lives. From its beginnings in 1996 to determine the status of the endangered Matschie’s tree kangaroo in the wild, TKCP has evolved into a holistic program supporting habitat protection for a wide range of threatened species, as well as initiatives to enhance local community livelihoods and access to government services.
Wide Bay Conservation Association (WBCA) is an association made up of clans from the Wide Bay area of East Pomio, New Britain. WBCA works to strengthen the recognition of women as traditional custodians of the land, and as equal leaders in their communities. WBCA supports local communities, especially women, to have control over decisions about their land and resources.
TIPNG is a chapter of Transparency International, a world-wide non-profit, non-government organisation dedicated to fighting corruption. TIPNG began in 1997 with the aim of combatting corruption in PNG and promoting transparency, honesty and accountability in public and private dealings. We are establishing provincial sub-chapters across PNG; we reach approximately 2.5 million people through our Community Coalition Against Corruption. We are a membership based organisation guided by a voluntary Board of Directors.
